Flashlight numbers make more sense once you know what they measure:

• Lumens: A measure of total light output. More lumens generally means more overall brightness, though beam shape also matters.
• Beam distance: A standardized measurement of how far the beam can reach under test conditions; it doesn’t mean everything at that distance will be brightly illuminated.
• 5500K: Color temperature. Around 5500K is a neutral-to-cool white compared with warmer yellow-toned light.
• IP66: A dust-tight rating with protection against powerful water jets. It is not the same thing as an immersion rating.
• 111-hour runtime: Maximum runtimes are generally achieved on lower-output modes, not at the flashlight’s brightest setting.
